Take Profit Trader review: our verdict

Take Profit Trader suits futures traders whose priority is getting paid quickly and often: once a PRO (simulated funded) account is above its buffer, you can withdraw daily from the first day with no minimum profitable days and no maximum withdrawal. It also accepts a wide range of platforms and allows copy trading across accounts. The trade-offs are an intraday trailing drawdown on PRO accounts, a buffer equal to the full drawdown that must be built before withdrawals are paid at 80%, a one-time PRO activation fee when no promotion applies, and the fact that Test prices and profit targets were not published on the official pages we could reach.

Take Profit Trader scores 7.9/10 in our ratings and ranks fourth of the 10 futures prop firms we currently rate. Its payout flexibility and strong Trustpilot score support the rating; incomplete public documentation and the intraday PRO drawdown pull it down. See our methodology.

Programs and pricing

TakeProfitTrader LLC, based in Windermere, Florida, runs a three-stage path:

  • Test: a simulated evaluation from $25K to $150K with an end-of-day (EOD) drawdown, no daily loss limit, a 3-day minimum and a soft consistency rule. It is billed as a subscription.
  • PRO: a simulated funded account with an intraday drawdown, a buffer equal to the drawdown, daily withdrawals and an 80% split. No monthly fee.
  • PRO+: a live-market account offered after a performance and behaviour review, with no buffer, a 90% split and, for accounts opened since June 30, an EOD drawdown. No activation or monthly fee.

Pricing details we could confirm on takeprofittrader.com and its official FAQ pages in November 2026 (US dollars):

ItemOfficial figure
Test account sizes$25K to $150K
Test monthly prices by sizeNot published on the pages we could reach
Test resetFrom $79, depending on size; unlimited resets
PRO activation feeOne-time $130 (waived under the current NOFEE50 promotion)
PRO account resetsUp to 3
PRO and PRO+ monthly feesNone
Most a failed Test can cost$360, per the homepage

Third-party comparison sites list 50K Test pricing around $170 a month before discounts, but we could not confirm this on an official page and you should check the checkout price. Take Profit Trader's terms offer a refund within 72 hours of purchase if the account has not been used or traded, minus a $75 fee; after that, fees are not refundable.

Trading rules explained

Profit targets

Each Test size has its own profit target, but the official pages we reached do not list the amounts. Secondary sources report targets of 6% of the account (for example $3,000 on 50K); treat that as unverified. To pass you must hit the target, trade at least 3 days and satisfy the consistency rule. PRO and PRO+ have no target.

Daily loss limit

The official FAQ states there is no daily loss limit on Test accounts. We found no daily limit described for PRO either; your loss risk is governed by the maximum drawdown.

Maximum drawdown

Test accounts use an EOD trailing drawdown: the floor follows your highest closing balance and does not react to open-trade swings within the day. PRO accounts switch to an intraday trailing drawdown, which follows the highest equity reached during the session, including unrealized gains. New PRO+ accounts use EOD again. The dollar drawdown for each size is not shown on the official pages we could reach, and we could not confirm whether or where the Test drawdown stops trailing.

Consistency rule

In the Test you cannot make 50% or more of the profit target in a single day. Breaking it does not fail the account: you keep trading until your largest day no longer dominates. PRO and PRO+ have no consistency rule.

News trading

News trading is allowed in the Test. PRO and PRO+ accounts may not trade during "specific major news events"; the list of events was not on the pages we could access, so confirm it in your dashboard or with support.

EAs, copy trading and hedging

Copy trading is explicitly allowed, including across up to five PRO accounts. The official pages we reached do not address bots, automated strategies or hedging, so ask support before running an algorithm.

Holding positions and inactivity

Futures trade from Sunday 5:00 pm CT to Friday 4:00 pm CT with a daily break from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm CT. We could not find an official statement on overnight or weekend holding. PRO+ accounts must place at least one trade per week to stay active.

Worked example

Because official Test parameters were not published on the pages we reached, this example uses the 50K figures reported by secondary sources: a $3,000 target and a $2,000 EOD trailing drawdown (starting floor $48,000). The rule mechanics are from the official FAQ.

  1. Day 1: +$1,000. Balance $51,000; floor $49,000.
  2. Day 2: −$500. Balance $50,500; floor stays $49,000. There is no daily loss limit to trigger.
  3. Day 3: +$1,000. Balance $51,500; floor $49,500.
  4. Day 4: +$1,500. Balance $53,000, so total profit equals the $3,000 target. But $1,500 is 50% of the target, which breaches the consistency rule. The account is not failed; you keep trading.
  5. Day 5: +$200. Total profit $3,200; the best day is now 46.9% of profit. On our reading of the FAQ, this clears the rule and the Test is passed.

Check: $1,000 − $500 + $1,000 + $1,500 + $200 = $3,200. In PRO, the buffer equals the drawdown, so on a 50K account with a $2,000 drawdown you would need a balance above $52,000 before withdrawals are paid at 80%. At $52,800 you could withdraw $800 and receive $640. Withdrawing from inside the buffer is possible but normally closes the account and is paid at 50%.

Payouts

PRO withdrawals are available from the first day and daily after that, with no minimum profitable days, no payout windows and no maximum withdrawal, once the account is above its buffer. The split is 80% on PRO and 90% on PRO+, which has no buffer. A minimum withdrawal amount is not published. US traders are paid through Plaid real-time bank transfers or ACH; international traders through PayPal or Wise. Take Profit Trader says payouts typically arrive within one business day. Our Take Profit Trader payout guide covers the process in more detail.

Platforms and instruments

Take Profit Trader says it connects to more than 15 platforms, naming NinjaTrader, TradingView, Tradovate, RTrader, Quantower and MotiveWave, with CQG and Rithmic data feeds. Products are futures on CME, CBOT, NYMEX and COMEX; stocks, options, forex, crypto and CFDs are not offered. Each account size has a maximum contract allotment, but the figures are not published on the pages we reached; the homepage says PRO uses the same limits as the Test, with no scaling plan.

Who can join

US traders can join, and the terms describe the site as accessible from "most countries around the world". We did not find a published list of restricted countries on the official pages we could access, so check with support if you live outside the US. You must be at least 18 and provide accurate registration details; the KYC process is not described in detail publicly. Account limits are inconsistent: the FAQ allows up to five PRO or PRO+ accounts at once, while the terms say three, with up to six passed Tests activated per rolling 30 days.

Reputation and trader feedback

In November 2026 Take Profit Trader had a Trustpilot score of 4.4 from 11,080 reviews, with 80% five-star and 12% one-star ratings. Reviewers frequently praise fast, simple payouts, clear rules and responsive support. Some reviewers report delayed payouts or communication, and Trustpilot's review summary notes accounts restricted after payment-processing issues. Trustpilot shows the company replying to about 66% of negative reviews. The firm says it has operated since 2021 and offered live-market accounts since April 2023, and it discloses that 16.86% of Tests were passed in 2024. The firm has changed rules over time, for example cutting the Test minimum from five days to three and moving new PRO+ accounts to EOD drawdown.

How we verified this review

Checked November 2026. We read the takeprofittrader.com homepage and terms of service, two official FAQ landing pages on try.takeprofittrader.com, and the Trustpilot profile. Several blog pages on the official site would not load. We could not verify Test prices, profit targets, drawdown amounts, contract limits, the restricted news list, the automation policy or country restrictions on official pages; figures marked as secondary come from third-party comparison sites. Most traders fail evaluations and fees are at risk; this is not financial advice.
