Alpha Capital Group review: our verdict

Alpha Capital Group is a UK-registered forex and CFD prop firm (Alpha Capital Group Limited, company number 13719951, registered office in London). It suits traders who want a conventional two-step evaluation with a static maximum loss, no time limit and a published company behind it. It is less suited to traders who rely on fully automated strategies, hold trades over the weekend once funded on Alpha Pro, or want a split above 80% on the main evaluation plans.

The main trade-offs are a fairly dense rulebook (lot exposure caps, a best-day rule on on-demand payouts, a five-minute news window on funded accounts and a strict 30-day inactivity rule) and a Trustpilot profile whose rating is currently withheld. Alpha Capital Group holds a FundedTime score of 7.0/10 and ranks 6th of the 11 forex and CFD firms we track. Our methodology explains how scores and ranks are calculated.

Programs and pricing

Alpha Capital Group runs several plans, and its help center describes each one separately:

  • Alpha Pro (2-step): Pro 6%, 8% and 10%, where the number is the static maximum drawdown. Total allocation is capped at $400,000 across all plans.
  • Alpha One (1-step): offered as One 6%, One 10% and One 12%, where the number is the profit target. It uses a trailing drawdown. All versions go up to $200,000 except One 12%, which is capped at $100,000.
  • Alpha Swing: a two-step plan aimed at swing traders, with a 5% balance-based daily limit and weekend holding allowed at every stage.
  • Alpha Three: a three-step plan with a 4% daily limit.
  • Alpha Direct: a direct-to-funded account with a 3% daily limit, a 90% split and no weekend holding.

We could not load the official pricing or checkout pages when we checked in November 2026, so we are not publishing a full price table. When FundedTime last loaded the official site on 3 November 2026, it showed entry prices of $50 for a $5,000 account and $97 for a $10,000 account, in US dollars. Check the checkout page before buying.

Fees are one-time, and Alpha's help center states that "all our evaluation plans are non-refundable". We did not find a published reset price.

Trading rules explained

Profit targets

Alpha Pro 8% needs 8% in Phase 1 and 5% in Phase 2. Alpha Pro 10% needs 10% then 5%. Alpha Pro 6% needs 6% in both phases. Alpha One has a single target of 6%, 10% or 12%, depending on the version you buy.

Daily loss limit

The daily limit is set at the daily candle boundary, 00:00 GMT+2 broker time. How it is measured depends on the plan:

  • Balance-based: Alpha Pro 8% (4%), Alpha Pro 10% (5%) and Alpha Swing (5%). Floating profit at the reset does not raise the day's starting point.
  • Greater of balance or equity: Alpha Pro 6% (3%), Alpha One (3%, 4% or 5% depending on version), Alpha Three (4%) and Alpha Direct (3%). If you hold a floating profit at the reset, the limit is measured from that higher equity figure.

Breaches are checked against live equity, including open trades.

Maximum drawdown

On Alpha Pro the overall drawdown is static: 6%, 8% or 10% below the starting balance, and it does not move as you profit. On Alpha One it trails the highest balance reached: 4% on One 6%, 6% on One 10% and 8% on One 12%. The trailing floor stops moving once your gain equals the drawdown percentage. For example, on a $100,000 One 10% account the floor starts at $94,000, follows the balance up, and locks at $100,000 once the balance reaches $106,000. If you withdraw all profit after the floor has locked, the account closes, so Alpha advises leaving a buffer.

Minimum trading days

Alpha Pro requires 3 trading days per phase, and Alpha One requires 1 day. Token lot sizes used just to collect days do not count.

Consistency rules

Evaluations have no consistency rule. On-demand payouts carry a best-day rule: on Pro, Swing, One and Three, your best day's net profit can be at most 40% of total net profit (15% on Alpha Direct). Alpha calls this ratio the consistency score, so in practice total profit must be at least 2.5 times your best day.

News trading

During evaluations you can trade freely through news. On funded (Qualified Analyst) accounts for Pro, One, Three and Direct, you may not open or close a trade on an affected instrument from 5 minutes before to 5 minutes after a listed high-impact release. This includes stop-loss and take-profit fills, and profit from a trade filled inside the window is not paid. Trades opened earlier can be held through the release. Swing accounts use a shorter window of 2 minutes either side.

EAs, copy trading and hedging

EAs are allowed only on MT5, and only EAs built for trade management, such as lot sizing, stop and target handling, or break-even tools. Every EA needs pre-approval: you enable it at checkout and send the file to support. Fully automated EAs, third-party bots, high-frequency trading and latency arbitrage are banned. EAs are not available on cTrader, DXtrade, TradeLocker, swap-free or Alpha Direct accounts.

Copy trading is allowed from an external account you can prove you own, or between your own Alpha accounts, after you notify support. Copying other traders counts as group trading and is prohibited. Alpha also bans group hedging, latency and arbitrage trading, and "position spamming" (three or more positions on one idea, each opened within 60 seconds of the last).

Lot exposure caps

Each size has a maximum lot exposure, from 2.5 lots on $5,000 to 40 lots on $100,000 and 80 on $200,000. Violations are checked at withdrawal: the first removes the fee earned on the excess lots, and the second forfeits the fee and deactivates the funded account.

Weekend and overnight holding

On Alpha Pro, weekend holding is allowed in Phases 1 and 2 but not on the funded account. Doing so there is a soft breach, and the profit from those trades is removed. Alpha Swing, One and Three allow weekend holding at every stage, and Alpha Direct does not allow it.

Inactivity

If an account goes more than 30 consecutive calendar days without genuine trading, it is deactivated. This applies at every stage, and logging in without trading does not count.

Worked example

Take a $100,000 Alpha Pro 10% account in Phase 1 (no time limit applies):

  • Profit target: 10%, so a balance of $110,000.
  • Maximum loss floor: 10% static, so equity must stay above $90,000 at all times.
  • Daily limit: 5%, or $5,000. Alpha does not say whether the 5% is taken from the day's opening balance or the initial size, so we use the stricter reading: $5,000 below each day's opening balance.
  1. Day 1: you make $2,000. Balance $102,000.
  2. Day 2: the daily floor is $97,000 ($102,000 minus $5,000). Two losing trades cost $1,500 and $1,800, a total of $3,300. Balance $98,700. Equity never went below $97,000, so the account is fine. A further loss of more than $1,700 that day would have breached the daily limit.
  3. Day 3: you gain $4,500. Balance $103,200.
  4. Day 4: you gain $3,000. Balance $106,200.
  5. Day 5: you gain $3,900. Balance $110,100. The 10% target is met after 5 trading days, above the 3-day minimum, and the $90,000 floor was never threatened.

Phase 2 then needs 5% ($105,000). On the funded account with bi-weekly payouts, suppose you have made $4,000 by your first eligible date, after at least 5 trading days. At an 80% split you would receive $3,200, provided you hold no open trades when you request and break no lot cap.

Payouts

Alpha offers two payout options. Bi-weekly payouts (Alpha Pro and Three only) can be requested every 14 days, starting 14 days after your first trade on the funded account. They need at least $100 of realised profit and 5 trading days before the first request. On-demand payouts (Pro, Swing, One, Three and Direct) can be requested whenever you meet the 40% best-day rule and hold at least 2% gross profit. Alpha Direct instead needs a 3% buffer plus a further 1%. Choosing on-demand rules out bi-weekly payouts on that account.

The help center's examples imply an 80% split on the main plans: a $100 minimum gross fee pays $80. Alpha Direct pays 90%. Payouts go out through Rise, Wise or bank transfer (wire, ACH or SWIFT). Crypto is available only through Rise. Requests are paid within 2 business days, and all trades must be closed first. See our Alpha Capital Group payout guide and how prop firm payouts work.

Platforms and instruments

Alpha offers MT5, cTrader, DXtrade and TradeLocker. MT5 is not available to US residents, and traders visiting the US must not use their MT5 accounts while there. New US customers cannot currently sign up for cTrader, though existing US cTrader users can keep trading. On Alpha Pro, leverage is 1:100 on FX, 1:30 on metals, 1:20 on indices and 1:10 on oil. On Alpha One it is lower: 1:30 on FX, 1:9 on metals and 1:10 on indices and oil.

Who can join

The site's terms state that it is directed at people in the United Kingdom, and that visitors from elsewhere are responsible for complying with their local laws. US residents can trade on DXtrade and TradeLocker, so availability for US traders is limited rather than closed.

We could not load Alpha's own country availability page in November 2026. A secondary source (LuxAlgo) lists restricted countries including Afghanistan, Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, Venezuela, Vietnam and Yemen, but we have not verified that list against the official one.

You must trade your own account, as account management services are prohibited. We did not find a published description of the identity checks.

Reputation and trader feedback

When we checked in November 2026, Trustpilot showed 22,038 reviews for alphacapitalgroup.uk but no TrustScore, with the notice "This company's rating is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines." Trustpilot also states that it has removed a number of fake reviews for the company.

Some reviewers praise responsive support, smooth payouts and a simple dashboard. Others report payout rejections, terminations linked to device or IP checks that flagged shared devices or multiple accounts, and rules they say were unclear, such as per-trade risk or lot limits. Trustpilot does not verify individual claims. Many complaints involve rules that are published in the help center, so read them before you trade.

Alternatives to Alpha Capital Group

  • FTMO: a long-running two-step firm with a static maximum loss and a larger public track record.
  • The5ers: worth comparing if you want growth-focused programs and scaling.
  • FundedNext: a wider range of challenge types and platforms, including MT4.
  • Blue Guardian: allows your own EAs, not only trade-management tools, if automation matters to you.

For broader comparisons, see FTMO vs The5ers, best MT5 prop firms and static vs trailing drawdown.

How we verified this review

We checked this review in November 2026. Rules for Alpha Pro 6%, 8% and 10%, Alpha One, daily risk limits, news trading, weekend holding, EAs, copy trading, prohibited strategies, inactivity, refunds, platforms and payouts were taken from Alpha Capital Group's official help center (articles dated July to September 2026). Company details come from the official terms and conditions, and the review count comes from Trustpilot.

We could not load the official pricing, country availability or Alpha Swing and Three plan pages, so prices beyond the two entry sizes, the restricted country list and some Swing and Three details remain unverified. The split figure is inferred from official payout examples. Prop trading is high risk: most traders fail evaluations, and evaluation fees can be lost. Nothing here is financial advice.
