Prop firms whose payouts run weekly, daily or on demand after the first withdrawal, with each program's first-payout rule, ongoing frequency, split at that frequency and methods, plus the buffers, caps and consistency checks that apply.
Short answer: if you trade the news on futures, Earn2Trade and Lucid Trading have the most permissive rules in our reviews: Earn2Trade allows trading during news with no restrictions, and Lucid allows it on LucidFlex, LucidPro and LucidDirect. On the forex side, FTMO is the top-rated choice: news is unrestricted in its Challenge and Verification, and its Swing funded account is exempt from the news block. Most other firms allow news trading in the evaluation but restrict it, or cut the profit, once you are funded.
FundedTime has a commercial partnership with Clarity Traders. It is included below on the same criteria and scoring as every other firm.
How we built this list
We included a firm if its FundedTime review, checked against official pages in November 2026, states that news trading is allowed on at least one stage or account type. Firms are ordered by FundedTime score, which follows our published methodology. Because the real difference between firms is what happens on the funded account, the table shows the evaluation rule and the funded rule separately. No firm paid to be included.
Left out because our reviews describe a news restriction and no unrestricted stage: The5ers (holding through news is allowed, but opening or closing orders from 2 minutes before to 2 minutes after high-impact news is prohibited), Topstep (restricts trading around Tier 1 news) and TradeDay (liquidates positions 2 minutes before Tier 1 releases). Not verified: Bulenox, Tradeify and E8 Markets, whose news rules our reviews could not confirm on official pages, and Apex Trader Funding, whose homepage (likely legacy terms) allows your normal system during news but bans news-specific strategies.

The firms in detail
FTMO (8.8/10)
There is no news restriction during the Challenge and Verification. On funded Standard and Instant accounts, FTMO blocks order execution from 2 minutes before to 2 minutes after selected high-impact releases, such as US CPI, Non-Farm Payrolls and central-bank decisions, on linked symbols. Positions opened earlier can stay open, but stops and take-profits triggered inside the window also count. Swing accounts, available on the 2-Step, are exempt, at the cost of 1:30 leverage. See the FTMO review.
My Funded Futures (8.4/10)
MFFU's news policy (August 2026) lists Tier 1 events: FOMC, the employment report, CPI, and EIA and agricultural reports for those markets. Evaluations and Builder accounts may trade them. On Rapid and Pro sim funded accounts, no positions or orders may be open from 2 minutes before to 2 minutes after. Straddles and other news-burst tactics are banned on every account. See the My Funded Futures review.
FundedNext (8.2/10)
News trading is allowed in all challenge phases. On funded accounts and Stellar Instant, profits from trades within 5 minutes before or after a listed high-impact event on a correlated symbol count at only 40%, while losses count in full. That asymmetry makes funded news trading expensive. See the FundedNext review.
Alpha Futures (8.0/10)
There are no news restrictions on any evaluation or on Advanced qualified accounts. Zero qualified accounts cannot enter trades from 2 minutes before to 2 minutes after red-folder events. Alpha does not state a news rule for Standard or Direct qualified accounts on the pages we checked. See the Alpha Futures review.
Take Profit Trader (7.9/10)
News trading is allowed in the Test. PRO and PRO+ accounts may not trade during "specific major news events", but the list was not on the pages we could access, so confirm it in your dashboard. See the Take Profit Trader review.
FundingPips (7.4/10)
Evaluations have no news restriction, although deliberately "trading the news" is prohibited. On Master accounts, profits from trades opened or closed within 5 minutes of restricted high-impact news on the affected currency may be deducted; trades opened 5 hours or more before are exempt. News trading is prohibited on Zero. See the FundingPips review.
Lucid Trading (7.4/10)
Opening or closing positions around news is allowed on LucidFlex, LucidPro and LucidDirect. On LucidDaily, trading red-folder news is a hard breach. Lucid warns of slippage and exchange velocity logic in news-driven markets. See the Lucid Trading review.
Earn2Trade (7.2/10)
Trading during news events is allowed, with no restrictions around economic releases. Remember that every account has a hard daily loss limit, which some reviewers say counts open P&L, so a news spike against you can end an evaluation quickly. See the Earn2Trade review.
Maven Trading (7.2/10)
Standard 1-, 2- and 3-Step accounts cannot open or close affected instruments from 2 minutes before to 2 minutes after a red-folder release. Omo is unrestricted in evaluation but caps funded profit per news event at 0.50% of balance. Buy Now Pay Later and Instant accounts have no news restriction. See the Maven Trading review.
Alpha Capital Group (7.0/10)
You can trade freely through news during evaluations. On funded accounts for Pro, One, Three and Direct, you may not open or close a trade on an affected instrument from 5 minutes before to 5 minutes after a listed release, including stop and target fills, and that profit is not paid. Swing uses 2 minutes either side. See the Alpha Capital Group review.
Blue Guardian (7.0/10)
News trading is allowed in evaluations. On funded accounts, you may not open or close trades within 5 minutes of red-folder or FOMC events; profits can be removed, but it is not an account violation. Instant Standard accounts bought after 13 November 2025 cannot news trade at all. See the Blue Guardian review.
Clarity Traders (6.6/10)
High-impact news trading is permitted on all accounts; the FAQ notes you carry the slippage and volatility risk. Every trade must still stay open at least 60 seconds. See the Clarity Traders review.
Goat Funded Trader (6.2/10)
News trading is allowed, but for trades opened or closed within 5 minutes of a red-folder release, profit is capped at 1% of the initial balance per trade, in both evaluation and funded phases. The excess is removed without a breach. See the Goat Funded Trader review.
Funded Trading Plus (6.0/10)
FT+ allows news trading, but its risk review treats heavy margin use around news as a red flag; one trade through NFP using 90% of margin for about 10 seconds would likely fail review. "Boom or bust" trading tied to a single event is prohibited. See the Funded Trading Plus review.
What to check
- Window and scope. 2 minutes (FTMO, MFFU, Alpha Futures Zero) or 5 minutes (FundedNext, FundingPips, Alpha Capital, Blue Guardian, GFT), and whether it covers holding, opening, closing or stop fills.
- Penalty. Blocked orders, profit removed, profit counted at 40%, a cap, or a breach (LucidDaily).
- Funded vs evaluation. Passing with news trades does not mean you can keep trading that way.
Our prop firm news trading rules guide explains each type. Confirm the rule for your account on the firm's site. Most traders do not pass evaluations, and fees are at risk.

FAQ
Which prop firms allow news trading on funded accounts?
In our November 2026 reviews, Earn2Trade allows news trading with no restrictions, Lucid Trading allows it on LucidFlex, LucidPro and LucidDirect, and Clarity Traders permits it on all accounts. FTMO's Swing account, MFFU's Builder and Alpha Futures' Advanced qualified accounts are also unrestricted.
Does FTMO allow news trading?
Yes during the Challenge and Verification. On funded Standard and Instant accounts, orders are blocked from 2 minutes before to 2 minutes after selected high-impact releases; Swing accounts are exempt.
How does FundedNext treat news trades?
News trading is allowed in all challenge phases, but on funded accounts and Stellar Instant, profits from trades within 5 minutes of a listed high-impact event count at only 40%, while losses count in full.
Does The5ers allow news trading?
You can hold trades through news, but you cannot open or close orders from 2 minutes before to 2 minutes after high-impact news, and profits from orders in that window are deducted.
Can news trading breach my account?
At Lucid's LucidDaily, trading red-folder news is a hard breach. At most other firms the penalty is blocked orders or removed profit rather than a breach.
